Once that you’ve embossed an image, ink a brayer with your choice of craft or classic ink by rolling the brayer directly on the ink pad. Run the brayer directly over the embossed image, and then carefully wipe the ink from your image with a tissue. The embossed image will “resist” being colored by the ink, leaving it to pop out from a background of color.
Using sponge daubers from you scrapbooking tools, you can create different looks with the resisting technique. Emboss your image, but instead of using a brayer, sponge the ink over the image for a soft, beautiful effect. Try sponging on more than one color to create a dramatically colorful project.
There are other color combinations that would well with this technique. You may want to try them. Spots work well with your experimenting. You get a small spot, perfectly sized for your sponge daubers, of each color in a family. These spots make it so easy to try out different colors.

My scrapbook room is a place where I love to go and explore my creativity using all of my supplies that I have tucked away in my scrapbooking storage area . Others even come to design with me, and we spend time together pursuing our mutual hobby, and exchanging ideas.
My scrapbook room has enough space for a large folding table. There are high cupboards that end in a shelf, creating an ideal place for cards and 3-D items. I love displaying even more stamped project ideas under the cupboards, both on the counter and on magnet boards secured to the walls. On the door behind my space is a magnet board. Everywhere you turn is ample scrapbooking storage.
Although I have plenty of projects out for everyone to see, I store very few stamping supplies in sight. Only my color caddy holds a permanent place on the counter. Most frequently used items, like scissors, adhesives, and other useful tools, are kept in drawers and cupboards close at hand, ready to be pulled out if I need them. This includes a drawer full of card stock where I store each color in a hanging file folder with a hand-stamped label featuring a current image. This is a personal touch that doesn’t take much time, but adds to my scrapbooking storage area.

While most of us don’t usually think about why we like the things we do, most of us have a clear sense of our own style and those things that influence it. I like to follow what’s new and popular in the scrapbooking industry. I used to never be big into scallops and swirls, but now I’m using them a lot on my cards. I like to pick a particular products that I want to use and then pick my color scheme for my scrapbooking paper that I’ve chosen, and then choose a few of the new embellishments that I want to use.
I don’t usually add a lot of embellishments to my projects. I don’t have the patience, but I love ribbon and anything that shines! I like clean lines and have simple tastes, but do like a little bling–like a touch of shimmery white paper–that will make a project extra special.
In my cards, I use layered buttons and threaded ribbon that do not take away from my aesthetic, but catch the eye and hint at the extra care that I took with my projects. The layered button accent looks particularly cool!

When you don’t know where to search for ideas, inspiration can seem like a difficult thing to come by, but if you take a few minutes and simply look around you, you’ll see it everywhere.
Pause for a moment and take a quick glance around the room. Did anything catch your eye or make you stop? Did you notice any interesting patterns, shapes, or color combinations that would work in your scrapbooking albums? What is it about that particular piece that caught your eye?
Now open your cupboards and take a peek inside. Many of the products that you buy and use every day have some kind of design on them, like color combinations. Why not allow those everyday images and patterns to help you create something to treasure?
