Yes, you can actually emboss a markered image! Just ink your stamp with a marker from your scrapbooking tools and then breathe heavily on the image to moisten the ink to allow embossing powder to stick to it. To get an even stickier image, ink your stamp using a versamark pad, stamp off, and then color the stamp with your markers.
Has anyone ever used a stamp-a-ma-jig? I’d be interested in your comments about it.

We generally all believe it’s great to have a set of markers from our scrapbooking tools on hand to use in paper crafting. And many of us feel that the best general use for markers is to fill in for stamp pads. After all, how much better to omit some detail from your image or to stamp your image in several colors than to use markers to ink the stamp?
Markers themselves can be used as stamps. Using the brush end of the marker, press down on the side of the brush tip. This will create a tear-drop shape that can be used to create flowers, leaves, butterflies, hearts, and more.

Giving a Gift from the Heart

posted by GotScraps

There’s nothing better than a gift that comes directly from the heart. While expensive jewelry and elaborate cell phones might be thrilling on a superficial level, people tend to find that the gifts that consistently mean the most are those that are both heartfelt and meaningful. And that’s good news for people nowadays who are looking to save every way possible. Especially if you’ve been laid off or are struggling to make mortgage payments, giving handmade gifts is a perfect option right now.

One of the most special of those handmade gifts is the scrapbook. Not only can the person reminisce about the good times depicted by the pictures, but they can also enjoy the artistic layout that you’ve used to present those pictures. You can make the book as long or as short as you want, and all it will take is a few scrapbooking supplies and some time. Just make sure that everything you use from the glue to the paper is acid-free as well as having a scrapbooking storage. This way, the book is sure to last for years to come.

This is the season to be thankful for everything that we have and much more. I’m thankful for my wonderful scrapbooking hobby and all that it entails. If I didn’t pursue this craft, I don’t know what I’d do. It fills my free time with planning and designing. I can’t think of a better way to spend my time in preserving memories for my family and their families! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

The leather scrapbooking albums are very sophisticated looking, soft to the touch, and versatile. They can keep your cherished memories for a lifetime. With the cost being a little more, they are well worth the money.
The quality of the album is important, and in that respect a real leather photo-scrapbooking album is the best to choose.

The Holidays are a time for lists. Christmas card lists, wish lists, gift lists, and calendars packed with social gatherings all crowd our lives and keep excitement and anticipation high. You might look at your list of friends and family and already know what to give everyone. Or, better yet, maybe you’ve already started making your gifts using your scrapbooking paper and tools. I started designing gifts in early September and am almost finished!

Everyone has a bad day occasionally. What better way to cheer up a dear one who is feeling down than to share a decorated card made with your scrapbooking paper and embellishments? I created a card today for a dear friend, hoping that she’ll get a smile from it.
I included a lemonade packet that I tucked inside as an extra treat! I can’t wait to send it out tomorrow!

I love to use use the shiny, lustrous, metallic scrapbook paper with it’s mica coating on my scrapbook pages and greeting cards. It also works well with my laser printer if I want to create some digital scrapbooking. I’ve found that inkjet printers will smear and smudge. The paper works well with punches, stencils, or templates for adding a flashy embellishing touch. So if you need a different look for your page, try some metallic paper.

Polka dot scrapbook paper can be easily used in your projects, whether it’s scrapbooking an album page, or in home decor. You can choose from subtle dots to multi-color dots, or even make your own dots on your paper. This type of paper works great in your card making as well. And sometimes a theme just goes with polka dots. Whether your polka dots are large or small, bright or subtle, one color or many, consider going dotty on your next layout, home decorating project, or card. You’ll have fun and be pleased with the results.
