I’m continuing with the article that I wrote yesterday with more tips for scrapbooking.
Choose scrapbooking paper and accessories that complement your focal image. I normally use few colors for the best result. Three colors plus one neutral color works great for me.
Lay out your design before you adhere anything together.
Work for balance on your scrapbooking or card page. Eye your page to make sure that all elements are balanced.
You’re now ready to begin your creativity!
Elements of the way that you design your scrapbooking album or page are like the pieces of a puzzle coming together. Your creation can fit perfectly to make your scrapbook page uniquely you.
Start by deciding what message, emotion, or tone that you want to evoke with your album. If it motivates you, challenge yourself to find exactly the right elements—scrapbooking stamp sets, embellishments, and the right scrapbook colors.
Focus by choosing your image and then coordinate it with supporting images, background patterns, your greeting or journaling, accents, scrapbook paper, etc.
Have you ever tried white embossing on your scrapbook page? You’ll be very impressed with how cool it looks!
Use dark colored scrapbooking paper if you want the white embossing to really pop out. Make sure that the image you stamp contrasts with the paper you’re using. Choose large images to emboss, because small embossed images on a busy paper may add a little more than you want. Be sure to stamp the image with versamark ink, cover the image completely with white emboss power, shake off the excess powder, and hold the heat tool 4-6 inches away heating the image until the powder turns shiny and rises.

As a scrapbooker, I love to express my style in my home with the supplies, especially stamps, that I have on hand. It allows me to showcase my individuality through my artwork.
I also choose high-quality vinyl wall art designs and enjoy decorating the walls of each room. I then coordinate my home decor with the wall designs. I’ve redecorated several rooms in the past and will do it again when the mood hits me.
To create a cohesive album, I choose one stamp set or several sets that coordinate with each other and use them throughout my album. Stamps can also call attention to my photos and provide the ideal accents to my pages.
Also choose stamped images proportionate to your pages. Makes sure that your images fit your pages and your photos provide a balance. Arrange stamped images in sets of three and in triangles. Whether you’re talking about color, accents, or any other design element, creating triangles and using sets of three helps to balance a page.
Here’s an idea for using a scallop stamp set with a scallop edge punch. Insert card stock into punch, and press down on the lever to punch the first scallop. Slide the card stock along the guide of your punch, matching up the punched scallop edge to the scallop printed on the guide. You can slide your card stock in either direction: just make sure it lines up with the guide. Continue scalloping the entire edge.
Then you may stamp or add embellishments as desired to finish up using a scallop stamp set.
