Living in the Midwest, my family is definitely infatuated with preserving the western tradition of life. So, my scrapbooking includes a lot of the western things that our family participates in. Sometimes it’s difficult to find the appropriate western scrapbbok paper that I need for a particular scrapbook project that I’m working on. I enjoy searching on internet stores for what I’m looking for. They offer many unique ideas for my western scrapbook page. If you’re frustrated about finding a certain scrapbook idea or item, try subscribing to a craft magazine, look on the internet, or look if you’re out of town in craft stores.

I have used the quickutz die cut machine at our neighborhood craft store. It is very versatile with drawing options and cuts through assorted materials. It also cuts paper, card stock, vinyl and more for crafts, scrapbooking, card making, wall art, glass etching and personalization. It has a drawing capability that allows for drawing of the loaded art instead of cutting it.
When the quickutz is connected to your computer, it is able to access every font and piece of clip art on your computer so that you don’t need to purchase more cartridges for shapes. Be sure and try it out and see what you think!

With this holiday fast approaching and the Labor Day sales that will be on, why not consider checking out the latest scrapbooking supplies that might be available? Halloween scrapbook paper and embellishments are so exciting and “spooky” to include on a scrapbook album or page. Along with the pictures that you include, the page looks very dressed up and an eye catcher for all.
Even creating a digital scrapbook page is an option. You can choose a scary and unique font before printing it out. Then select some Halloween paper, paste it in between with your pictures, include some embellishments, and don’t forget the journaling.

Size and color are two important factors that can determine a viewer’s perception of balance on your scrapbooking pages. Black colors are heavy and weighty, while light colors are lightly weighted elements.
Equalizing the weights of different elements and accents will bring much pleasure and balance to your pages. The eyes are attracted to the equalizing and not aware of the imbalance of any elements that are no proportionate on a page.
By varying the weight of scrapbooking stickers and elements, you can create special effects that will convey your message.

We’ve received an invitation from a couple who are getting married in September, and with our busy schedules and not knowing what to buy them, we’ve decided to purchase a wedding scrapbook kit for them. The bride to be is busy going to school, but will want to preserve that wedding day later on when she has time and what better way than with a scrapbook.
Whether it be a digital software or craft store kit, they are the best way to go, especially for someone who’s just scrapbooking one project. I sometimes use them when I don’t have a lot of time available to complete a particular design. Consider this idea as an option when you feel stressed about getting that next project finished!

Kids will love the pre-made Disney scrapbook pages. These pages come with all of the familiar Disney characters.
Your pictures to include on these pages don’t have to be from Disneyland or Disney World. Once that you have picked out the photos, have the child choose which Disney page to use.
I prefer purchasing a Disney scrapbook kit that includes patterned pages, epoxy stickers and accents. Be certain that the kit offers a supply of words and titles.
Whether you’re using pre-made pages or scrapbook kits, your child will be thrilled to begin creating!

Keeping a Scrapbook

posted by GotScraps

When we age, we often like to reflect on our past memories, and we also want to ensure that all our favorite memories are preserved.  Scrapbooking is one hobby that can preserve a lifetime of fun memories in one place.  Scrapbooking has existed for centuries, long before there were even photographs, but as technology has advanced, scrapbooking has become much more popular.  For those who might not know, scrapbooking involves taking pictures, papers, clothing, and other objects that bear some significance, and placing them in a book.  This often involves cutting, pasting, and more than a little bit of design.  However, the end result is a scrapbook that preserves memories of past and present and makes a wonderful conversation piece for others to look at.  The best part about scrapbooking is, anyone can do it.

You can find all kinds of tools, and scrapbooking embellishments at retailers that sell arts and crafts supplies.  But the best part about scrapbooking is discovering a personal preference for compiling all the most precious memories.

I’m going to include some other scrapbbook tools that I have in my scrapbooking supplies and use often. Adhesive remover is an inexpensive way to remove excess glue or pull off dimensionals. The stamp-a-ma-jig is great to position a stamp for perfect image alignment. A pair of “sticky” scissors to use for sticky products, and a pair of “clean” scissors that I keep sharp for cutting scrapbooking ribbons, scrapbook paper, and card stock are also an essential. A brayer for background stmps will ensure that I always have full ink coverage.
I’m sure that you also have other items that you use. Feel free to tell us about them!

Cutting card stock and paper with accuracy comes with using the right scrapbooking tools. Sharp blades on your scrapbooking scissors are easy to use and make cuts with more precision. Replace blades in your paper cutter and hobby blade often.
You can also fix the ragged edges that dull scissors make from cutting your scrapbooking paper by sanding the edges or adding a little moisture. I use this technique often when my scissors become dull and I don’t have time to sharpen them.
