I’ve discussed using your scraps from your card stock in yesterdays article. Here are 2 more ideas on how to use them.
Pick a piece from your pile and build a card around that piece. Don’t worry about creating a masterpiece: just concentrate on expressing your creativity. Then try creating a card using only scraps after you’ve accomplished the previous step.
Build bundles of scraps into stacks by size or color. Once that you’re organized, create small bundles you can use for projects. What about creating precut pieces for projects from your scraps?
It’s time to get scrap happy!

Ah, June…the traditional month of weddings approaches like a kid on a waterslide–fast and more than a little bit out of control. Luckily for us, many of today’s brides eschew tradition and get married year-round. This means that there’s still plenty of time to pull together handmade projects for those often overlooked details!
Helping the maid of honor plan the perfect wedding shower? Delightful invitations will set the tone. Invitations should typically be sent six weeks before the shower. In addition to the what, the who, and the where, you may also want to include R.S.V.P. information on the cards.

I recently received a thank-you card in the mail for sending a graduation gift. It was a pre-printed postcard with a computer generated address on the front and a fill-in-the-blank for the present that I’d given on the back. I was sad to receive the card.
In this age of e-mail, instant messaging, and texting, it seems the act of expressing gratitude is becoming a lost art. I feel that when it comes to expressing gratitude, a text or pre-printed card isn’t very elegant. As a society, we’re moving further and further away from formal communication. Why not decorate and write a true thank-you for the gift?

In a perfect world, scrapbookers would have hours of free time to pull out their supplies and create masterful pages that generations to come would treasure forever. We don’t live in a perfect world, however, so you have to squeeze scrapbooking in between cooking, cleaning, chauffeuring, chaperoning, managing, and juggling. That’s why I purchase a lot of scrapbook kits that make it possible to spend only a few minutes of scrapbooking and still create beautiful pages that become family treasures.

All my friends are huge Christmas enthusiast. They start getting ready for Christmas months in advance. They start planning their holiday parties and getting their gifts in order. Organization is huge to them.

Three months before Christmas they set up a Christmas crafts bonanza. They make Christmas cards, Christmas wreaths, even home made Christmas bags. My friends have everything under the sun, when it comes to Christmas crafts.

Your scrapbooks don’t have to fit a certain mold–they don’t need to follow any pattern, or have a specific number of pages. Even the shape is up to you. It doesn’t matter how you choose to preserve those special life moments, just as long as you do!
If you have children, re-create an adorable mini album and send it to their grandparents as a gift. Or, if it’s too cute to give away, keep it and show off your beautiful children–and your creativity–to your friends. No matter what you do with it, this small album is sure to be admired for years to come.

Paper is a big item in scrapbooking. Plain cardstock (a stiff paper) is the main staple for scrapbook pages. It’s commonly used as the base or foundation page onto which photos and other items are adhered. Cardstock papers come in all kinds of colors, and I use my album color palette to choose the colors that suit my purpose. Papers can be purchased in individual sheets, in paper books, or in bulk.
I usually carry a small color wheel when I’m shopping for my scrapbook supplies. It comes in handy when I’m trying to decide what colors work well together.

I use these types of pens a lot. I don’t have to pre-treat the surface when I color a matte-surface photograph. I can begin coloring lightly on the objects in the image that I want to tint. After I’m done tinting, I let the image sit overnight until it’s dry before I place it in my scrapbook.
Photo-tinting tools are as easy to use as coloring in a coloring book with a crayon, but the final results are astounding!
