I am fortunate to have extra time that I can devote to preserving each of our family’s holiday memories before the pictures are lost in the pile of “to do” projects. I’ve already begun to create some page layouts from last Sunday’s Easter Holiday.
I’ve considered incorporating a few digital pages as well. I often look to the internet for new ideas. I need to search through others designs and find the right one to fit with pictures that I have assembled. What are your thoughts on how you generate ideas for scrapping?

I prefer cards that are purchased with lines or a grid, making it easier to keep my handwriting neat and straight. Even the pre-printed die-cut shaped cards are fun to use. These more properly called “journaling spots,” can be purchased in all shapes and colors, and are made of heavy paper.
Some of the cards also have quotes or phrases printed on them, which sometimes will help to spark an idea or two for my next scrap page. Journaling cards are available as die-cut cards, in tablets, or on 12″ x 12″ or smaller sheets. You may want to give them a try.

When I think back of beginning scrapbook tools that I had, there were only a few of the basic supplies that were used to design my pages. I didn’t have a lot of experience to scrapbook, but it was amazingly easy to do with the following basis tools.
Every scrapper needs scrapbook paper, an album, a paper cutter, stickers, scissors, glue, stencils or templates, colored pens or markers, and of course your favorite shots of scenery, family, friends or even your pets.
With all of the necessary scrapbook supplies, you will be able to create lasting albums that you can pass down to your children. It makes a great gift for someone that you love and it will be treasured for years to come.

Using rub-on transfers is a fast, inexpensive technique that can be used to make some incredibly great designs for your next project! The transfers can also be used as rubber stamping parts for your next craft project. Used for designing scrapbooks and greeting cards, these custom stamps can also be used with embossing powder or ink for embossed rubber stamping parts.
Learn what type of artwork is suitable for rubber stamping parts. Clip-art services provide excellent clip-art for rubber stamping parts, but they usually charge a fee. To save money, try to find out which service your rubber stamp manufacturer belongs to. It costs nothing to search through the clip-art service to find the person downloading the images. Many images that you’ll find for stamp production are fine with manufacturers using the images for rubber stamps.

Scrapbooking Convention

posted by GotScraps

As an avid scrapbook enthusiast it can be hard to come up with different ideas to put into your pages. The amount of dedication it takes can be overwhelming. You have all these new pictures but don’t know what to do. It takes a lot of time to come up with the development of one page. Let alone a whole book.

A great way to get new scrapbooking ideas is by going to a scrapbooking convention. You can get a lot of original ideas on what to do. You can incorporate what the instructor teaches you into your memory book. Talking with the other fellow scrapbook enthusiasts, you are able to bounce ideas off of each other.

Thinking about all of the time and expense going digital saves, our busy lives have forced a lot of us scrappers to follow this path. We have become dependent on these tools for creating layouts, adding graphic textures, embellishing and even including text messages.
In addition to the software as such, you may also need a scanner, a printer and even a digital camera. If you want to try digital scrapbooking, there are a large number of tutorials that you can use. Resources are numerous and you can even find digital scrapbooking kits advertised online.
Digital scrapbooking is a nice alternative to the traditional mode of scrapping. So when you’re needing a break from the standard, try some digital software.

People and events that show up in your pictures often help you determine and set the mood you want your pages to convey. If you can pinpoint the mood, you can find the materials to express it. Although your color scheme contributes to the mood of the page, using textures is another good way to enhance and intensify mood.
You can create textures on your pages with patterned papers that look like sand, rocks, hay, wood, and other substances. Some of the textured papers are embossed, and others have specialty finishes. Papers and other materials add texture to your pages to create moods that reflect your themes.

The paper industry of the scrapping world is an explosion of color like a never-ending fireworks display.  Any color of paper you can imagine, you can get.  A three-color approach to a scrapbook album gives you plenty of leeway to play with patterned papers along with different tints and shades of the three colors you’re using.
Study your color wheel and spend a good amount of time figuring out your palette.  You may want to be daring and do something outside your comfort zone.  Liven it up!  Pick out some patterned and textured papers that pop out your three-color palette.

Journaling templates are sheets of plastic that feature various patterns you can trace onto your scrapbooking pages. Most are designed to help you keep your journaling entires clean, straight, and aligned with other elements on your pages. These templages enable you to create undetectable lines similar to those on lined notebook paper.
After tracing in the lines, you simply make your journal entries on them using your best writing skills. I recommend that you lightly pencil in your entries before writing over them in ink with the the journaling pens.
