I have come across a new paper saving template that I’ll include in my scrapbooking tools. The 12″X12″ template measures the same size as scrapbooking paper and offers different layout options for a scrapbook page. It also features four pre-cut corners that provide exact guidelines for cutting out a section of the scrapbook page so you can add a piece of 81/2″X11″ scrapbook paper for coordinating color. You can then use the piece of heavier
scrapbooking paper included in your scrapbooking tools that you’ve cut out to create layers for photos or other coordinating elements for your page. By doing so, you save paper, which is where the name of the template comes from. You can purchase the paper saving templates to include in your scrapbooking tools in packages.

The use of ribbon from your scrapbooking tools is showing up a lot these days in the scrapbooking world. Ribbon alone works fine as an accent, but when you pair ribbon with stamping, you’ll discover a wonderful way to personalize any scrapbooking or card making project.
Stamping directly on ribbon allows you to customize ribbons with carefully selected sentiments. Coordinate the color of your ink and customize your greeting, and you’ve got a one-of-a-kind personal card or scrapbook page.
Using the ribbon to overlay is a creative way to call attention to certain elements of your page or card. Stamp the appropriate words on a card, tag, or scrapbook page, then place ribbon on top to call attention to your sentiment.
Experiment with ribbon from your scrapbooking tools, use stamps, and you’re sure to be caught up in the world of ribbon. With all of the ribbon colors to choose from, you’ll find one that coordinates with your project. Tie up lots of fun of creativity when you look for ways to combine stamps with ribbon. Keep a good supply of them in your scrapbooking tools.

Have you considered using something from your scrapbooking tools for home decor? Embellished tiles are a fantastic idea for home decor–especially if you’re searching for something that looks elegant but doesn’t require a lot of time.
Here are the steps: 1. Find an unglazed tile at the hardware store. 2. Wash the tile thoroughly to remove any dirt or dust. 3. Apply a decor element or rub-on from your scrapbooking tools to the tile. 4. Either display the tile or apply it to a home improvement project that you may be doing. Tip: Rub your image carefully on the surface of the tile–especially if the texture of the tile gives it an uneven surface.
A small tile would work great as a coaster, while larger tiles can be used as decor pieces. So be sure to include some rub-ons in your scrapbooking tools.

A beautiful box decorated with your scrapbooking tools doesn’t hurt when your giving a gift to a special someone. A treat box made with sturdy scrapbooking paper and using assorted scrapbooking tools adds a unique touch. Or, if you’re in a hurry, you don’t need to add more than a scalloped edge to the flap.
A purchased treat box ships flat, so it won’t take up much storage space before you use it. To assemble the box, pop it open and tuck in the bottom flap. When folded open, it’s the right size for small gifts and treats.
Whether you want to say thank you, happy birthday, or welcome to the neighborhood, you’ll find that a treat box will help you share your use of scrapbooking tools in a beautiful way.

Creating cards from my scrapbooking tools gives me instant gratification. You can make it and get it in the mail in a matter of minutes if you need to. The more you practice making cards, the more you believe in yourself and branch out to try new things. I’ve started to get into 3-Ds, which has come about by my growing confidence to the practice I get from participating in design challenges. I’ve seen what other people are doing, I find out what works for me and incorporate some of their ideas, but make it my own. I try to make my projects my own through clean and simple designs–with unexpected details. I just use things that I enjoy and that appeal to me. I find cool ideas and trends to incorporate into my designs everywhere I look.
Eye-catching details and trendy accents don’t have to be heavy-handed, and I try to create a “wow” without going over the top. Sometimes I take an extra minute to grab something from my scrapbooking tools to layer stamped images on a piece of chipboard, tuck a bit of linen thread behind a brad, or add a delightfully surprising pearl or scalloped edge. I try to find the balance between embellishments and a card sketch. After all, sometimes good design is instinctual. So get to creating with your scrapbooking tools.
