Markers can be used to dye ribbon and to stipple. To dye the ribbon use either tip of the marker to color the ribbon. You can create any pattern in any color to add custom details that coordinate with your project.
Stippling is the art of using little dots to fill in or shade an image. Use the brush tip of the marker from your scrapbooking tools for smaller, more defined dots. The more dots that you use, the darker your image. Have fun creating!

Here’s the steps that I use to dye fibers. Cover the bottom of a small, shallow container with water. Leave plenty of space to allow for liquid displacement when the scrapbooking ribbon is added to the container. Next, squeeze ink from an ink refill bottle into the container, (1 tsp. of water to 10 drops of ink). Test your color by soaking a small sample of ribbon in the ink using tweezers from your scrapbooking tools. The longer you soak the ribbon the darker the color. If the color isn’t quite right, adjust the water-to-ink ratio.

One of the most thrilling things that you can do with ink is change the color of your embellishments. If you have a spool of white grosgrain ribbon and a handful of ink refills, you have a variety of scrapbooking ribbon choices for your project.
For example, a card saying, “With All My Heart,” has the ribbon dyed a lighter shade of the original color than the card stock. You can achieve a subtle tone-on tone effect with little effort.

After a long day , a hot bath with luxurious bath salts is the best way to relax. And your friend will feel especially pampers when you give her a decorated jar of bath salts to help her soak her stress away, as well as add a decorative accent to her bathroom.
Use scrapbooking embellishments like floral scrapbooking die cuts, a designed frame with her initials, and accentuate the jar with three vivid, textured scrapbooking ribbons. I’m sure that you have other ideas for your gift creation also.

I’m going to include some other scrapbbook tools that I have in my scrapbooking supplies and use often. Adhesive remover is an inexpensive way to remove excess glue or pull off dimensionals. The stamp-a-ma-jig is great to position a stamp for perfect image alignment. A pair of “sticky” scissors to use for sticky products, and a pair of “clean” scissors that I keep sharp for cutting scrapbooking ribbons, scrapbook paper, and card stock are also an essential. A brayer for background stmps will ensure that I always have full ink coverage.
I’m sure that you also have other items that you use. Feel free to tell us about them!
