Cards made with your scrapbooking paper can show spring flowers, snowflakes, or bright sunshine. The look depends on the designs that you choose. Stamp sets can allow your viewer to take a leisurely stroll through a favorite vacation. There are a variety of vintage and collage styles that you can achieve with the right stamp set.
With the right choice of scrapbooking paper and a collage-style set, stamping is simple enough even for the beginning stamper, but offers enough unique beauty and grace to hook an experienced crafter. Collage stamping creates a vintage look by just using the right ink pads. Flavor can be added to cards by background stamping, whether by repeatedly using one stamp or by employing a background pattern. But the style encourages individual expression as you strike out to experiment with the collage look in your art.
Scrapbooking paper and stamp sets are inseparable for making cards!
I delight in designing cards to warm others’ hearts. I usually use glitter on ultra-smooth white and glossy white scrapbooking paper to capture the brilliancy of fresh-fallen snow . I’ll grab winter stamp sets or choose sticker sets, use a border of glitter on the edges of my focal piece, then add glitter to the image for detail. Dots give the perfect image of falling snow.
No need to wait for the snow to start falling in your neighborhood. Create a winter card!
We all know that time is of the essence; our lives are filled with demands as we find time for our families, our scrapbooking, and other obligations. Some may even feel that they are too busy to scrapbook or create cards. That’s where scrapbooking design paper and vellum come in.
The patterns on the scrapbooking paper and vellum can be quickly added to cards to accent a focal point and lend flavor and excitement. Or they can be easily arranged on pages to establish continuity and provide background. The above line of products provide fun alternatives that both save time and supply a lively background for stamped images.
I’m delighted when I can purchase 3″X3″ card and note sets. I’ve used Valentine’s sets, Christmas sets, winter sets, and greeting sets. The sets are conveniently packaged together to simplify card making, and there are always some in with my scrapbooking paper. They also make marvelous gifts–stamp a set and then give them to someone to use for any holiday. Or help your kids create hand-stamped or stickers cards for their entire class for Christmas or the next holiday, Valentine’s Day. An ideal accompaniment to the card and note sets are heart-and-flower-shaped eyelets that add a perfect embellishment.
A slider card is a slick little way to add dimension and movement to your next card making project.
To begin, cut a piece of scrapbooking paper to the desired size. Stamp any background text or images on the card. Next, choose your slider images and stamp them on a separate piece of card stock. The stamped images(s) can be any shape but should be large enough to allow for easy movement along the slider track. Cut a slider track by cutting a card stock strip that spans the width of the card. Using a paper cutter, cut two parallel slits in the card stock strip. Leave about 1/2″ on each end of the slits for stability. Cut a strip of card stock, and thread it through the slider track. Loop the strip around the track and use adhesive to glue the ends together, completing the loop. Then, glue your slider image to the loop. Finally, attach the slider track to your card with adhesive.

If you look around in nature, you’ll notice that circles surround us everywhere. From the sun to tree rings, they reflect a circular theme. Using only a few simple items, you can take this soothing theme from nature and create stunning looks in your scrapbooking card making.
Circles draw attention to the focal point of a card. A large flower on the card can be the focal point by layering circles behind and as part of the flower. Use circles punches and a button to carry the theme throughout the card. The circles echo each other in different sizes.
Whether you’re a beginning scrapbooker or seasoned card maker, you’ll love having various punches to use in your projects. They’re so versatile and easy to use. Just decide on an idea that you wish to use and choose a punch that will go with it.
I often purchase a scrapbook set that includes several punches. That way I’m getting other items to include in my scrapbooking tools and more scrapbook paper and embellishments. Scrapbooking card making is simpler with a variety of punches to use.
In scrapbooking, adding elements to our art that are interesting to touch and exciting to look at make our projects more memorable. Adding touchable texture and colors that pop-out create interest.
More often than touch or sight, our sense of smell evokes strong feelings and memories. Who can smell brownies baking without thinking of the loved one who baked them?
Scratch-and-sniff cards are simple to create. I’ll include the directions tomorrow, so assemble your scrapbooking tools.
